18th St. Artnight
October 23, 2010
We were planning to exhibit the map at Arzu’s studio for the 18th Street Art Canter’s Artnight before it goes on display at LMU. But it turned into an impromptu performance event as kept on working on it…
At this point we had the 12’x12’ map glued together but due to the weight of it all, we decided to stitch it together as well. So, Arzu, Erin, Jacob, Maria & Maria’s sister had a work session reinforcing the pieces while the art night visitors got to watch us through the open door.
The feed back we received from the audience was quite positive. There were comments about the collaborative effort, being able to watch the process of artwork in the making. Some people read the statement we posted outside the door and engaged in conversation, others expressed admiration to the creative environment with a group of people working together with some nice music in the background.
